Styling An Inviting Home: Balancing the Clean Aesthetic with a Lived-in Look

Sarasota interior designer Tracee Murphy wanted to strike a balance between clean and lived-in for this design project, but needed another perspective when it was time to pull it all together. NativeHouse jumped in for a full day of styling assistance before shooting a full tour of this inviting home for Florida Design.

Close to Home

The stakes feel a bit higher when your client is also a designer, but that is exactly why Tracee turned to NativeHouse for styling assistance on this shoot. Though she can style and prepare for home tours in her sleep, there is such a thing as being too close to home. NativeHouse offered an outside perspective to help Tracee with the finishing touches of her Sarasota project, ensuring that Tracee’s skills and personality were featured – without sacrificing the functionality of the space.

Imagination & Collaboration

The project began with a Zoom consultation, where Amy was able to view scouting shots and begin to imagine possibilities for the space. Working alongside Tracee, Amy developed an understanding of her personal aesthetic which she then used to add the finishing touches and ensure the space felt both curated and lived-in. The end result was an inviting home that photographed beautifully and represented Tracee’s unique style.
